Description

In Grade 3 Science, students build on the concepts learned in Grade 2 and explore these subject areas in greater depth. Predominantly focussing on biology and physics based topics, students will expand their understanding of the world around them through a scientific lens.

Moving through the year, students learn topics such as geographical science and solar science, as well as animal habitats and ecosystems

Class Focus

• Understand how energy is stored and transferred, as well as the physics of light

• Gain a deeper understanding of geographical science and solar science, including weather cycles and planet composition

• Be able to understand the anatomy of a variety of animals, as well as comprehend their place in the ecosystem

• Engage with new vocabulary and concepts through reading exercises focussing on cycles and patterns in the natural world, labelled diagrams of planets and terrestrial landforms, educational games and class discussions regarding suggested hypotheses.

Learning Outcome

By the end of the year, students will begin to be able to observe new information and verbalise their own scientific hypotheses as a result. By utilising their pre-existing scientific knowledge and cross referencing this with new content, students will be able to think independently and use their judgement to engage with this content effectively.

Grade 3 Science에서는 2학년에서 배운 개념을 바탕으로 주요 과학 주제를 더 깊이 있게 탐구합니다. 특히 생물학과 물리 기반의 내용을 중심으로, 학생들이 주변 세계를 과학적 관점으로 이해하고 확장할 수 있도록 돕습니다.

학년이 진행되면서 학생들은 지리 과학, 태양 과학, 동물 서식지, 생태계 등의 주제를 다루며 자연과 환경이 어떻게 연결되어 있는지 탐구합니다.

• 에너지가 저장되고 전달되는 방식과 빛의 물리 개념 이해하기

• 날씨 순환, 행성 구성 등을 포함한 지리 과학 및 태양 과학을 깊이 있게 이해하기

• 다양한 동물의 해부학적 구조를 이해하고, 생태계에서의 역할을 파악하기

• 자연의 순환과 패턴을 다룬 읽기 자료, 행성과 지형의 라벨링 도식, 교육용 게임과 수업 토의를 통해 새로운 어휘와 개념에 익숙해지기
