Description

In Grade 1 Science, students are introduced to the scientific world through a variety of topics to pique their interest and expand their knowledge. Students are encouraged to develop a natural curiosity in the world around them and start asking questions about the things they observe in their day-to-day lives.

Students are introduced to these topics in a gentle and accessible manner. By learning new vocabulary first, then aiming to utilise this knowledge independently, students build confidence in thinking scientifically and adjusting to the rhythm of receiving new information. Students do this by participating in a variety of hands-on activities, such as class discussions, labelling activities and educational games. Learning is supported through visual material, such as pictures and labelled diagrams.

Class Focus

• Exploring the structure and characteristics of living things, including the human body, plants, insects, and animals

• Observing and comparing features of organisms and natural objects

• Learning basic scientific vocabulary used to describe living things and natural systems

• Investigating early science topics such as prehistoric animals and the solar system

• Practicing observation and description through diagrams, labelling activities, and class discussions

Learning Outcome

By the end of the year, students will be confident in exploring new scientific ideas and engaging in curious conversations about the natural world.

과목 설명 (Description)

Grade 1 Science에서는 다양한 주제를 통해 과학의 세계를 처음으로 접하며 흥미를 높이고 지식의 폭을 넓혀 갑니다. 학생들은 주변에서 관찰하는 현상에 대해 자연스럽게 호기심을 갖고 질문을 던지며, 일상 속에서 탐구하는 태도를 기르도록 돕습니다.

새로운 개념은 부담 없이 이해할 수 있는 단계적 방식으로 소개됩니다. 먼저 기초 과학 어휘를 익힌 뒤, 이를 스스로 활용해 보는 과정에서 과학적 사고력과 새로운 정보를 받아들이는 학습 리듬을 자연스럽게 형성합니다.

학생들은 수업 토의, 라벨링 활동, 교육용 게임 등 다양한 체험 중심 활동에 참여하며 배우는 내용을 실제로 적용해 봅니다. 또한 사진, 그림, 라벨링된 도식 등 시각 자료를 활용하여 이해를 돕고 학습 효과를 높입니다.
